Installation of Software in
Windows 95 or 98
If the software was originally created for Windows 95 it will most likely be on a CD disk. Simply insert the CD into the drive. Wait approximately 10 or so seconds for the CD-ROM to determine if it is a software CD or a music CD. It should start the installation automatically.
If it automatically does not start the installation of the software then you will need to do the following:
Insert the CD or floppy disk into the appropriate drive.
Click Start and Run (the Run screen should appear.)
About 90% of the time you will be looking for a file called Setup.exe
Simply type the letter of the corresponding drive your disk is in and type the following
line:
(either A:SETUP or B:SETUP or D:SETUP) If this does not work try the word INSTALL instead
of SETUP.
Another method you may want to do is to simply press the Browse button, choose the appropriate drive by pressing the arrow down at the top (it normally has Desktop there.) You will see a list of files that the disk contains. Simply double click the one you think installs the software.
After you start the installation - you're on your own. Every one is different!
