How To Check Your Colorado Valley Internet
Email Account From A Remote Location
ex. Office / Home / Traveling

Things to keep in mind:

  1. It is better to use another email program other than any currently in use on the computer you set your account up on.  For example, if you are checking your home email from work and Netscape is being used at work - you may want to use Outlook Express or Eudora...

  2. If you are at work and retrieve your home email there, you will not see any of the messages you retrieved at work when you go home and check your email.  Once messages are fully downloaded, they are erased from the server.  To bypass this issue, use the setting of "Leave Messages on Server"  when setting up your email software at the other location.  That way when you check your email at your primary location (in this case your house) you will still retrieve all messages you received that day.

  3. If you are at a shared computer, you may not want to save your password as other people will be able to check your mail at that location.  It is better to have to type in your email password at the time of checking your mail at that location.

  4. It doesn't matter where or how you are connected to the Internet to check your mail, just as long as you have some type of connection and the software setup with your account information.

Please choose the email software you wish to setup:

Netscape | Outlook Express | Eudora
